This fine portal tomb is at the end of a farm track that runs through a closed court. We drove through this court and stopped the car at the end of the track, after 1 km.
The portal tomb stands on a little mound that seems to hide more tombs. At a certain distance from the main tomb some other stones are scattered around and seem to delimit a cairn. The capstone of the tomb has a weird pattern of grooves on it, and these grooves make the capstone look like a tortoise shell. The north portal stone has collapsed inwards and the capstone leans on it.
The tomb is about 3 metres long and wide and 1.90 metres tall.
The entrance faces northeast (60°).
Some thirty metres west from the tomb flows the Derreen river and some cows were grazing on its bank.
