Looking at the stones and the church from roughly the west.

Not far from Carron church there's a strange set of large stones, too well arranged to be natural. In my opinion this is what remains of a large court tomb.

What are clearly visible are the large stones aligned north-south on the west side of the arrangement. These stones are all similar in shape and size and are set vertically in the ground evenly spaced between them. On the north side of the site there's another linear row of smaller stones. On the east side there are traces of an alignment running parallel to the west one.
To the north of this set of stones there's a semi-circular arrangement of stones with a low mound in the centre.
Further north a farm lane cuts the circular enclosure.
I think that an embankment with a mound in the centre and a large tomb were once on this site, and now almost nothing of them remains.

The site isn't marked on the OS Map.
