Across the road from the well is this rag-tree, a poor whitethorn tree, known as the St. Kieran's Bush.

Seir Kieran holy well is a rectangular pool built in flagstones and concrete. Actually the area around the well is a large flat concrete and tarmac platform.
The well has a steel railing around it with timber kneelers for those who want to pray at the place.
The water in the well was very murky on the day of our visit and we saw some tadpoles in it.
St. Ciarán's feast day is on March 5th. On that day a mass is held at the site and it seems that for that event the water is cleaned out.
The well is at the end of a 250 metres long path that departs towards the east from the R421.

This well was where St. Patrick told Ciarán the Elder to found his monastery.

Across the road from the well there's a rag-tree where every kind of personal item is hanged as an offering to St. Ciarán.
