The two carved figures on the east (80°) face. The crucifixion above and St. Tola below.

Since May 14th, 2000, the first time we came here, I wished to visit this site again.
This high cross is 110 metres east (80°) from the church. The cross is aligned to this same axis, with the two carved figures on the east face.
The one above depicts the crucifixion with a completely dressed Christ. Right below the crucifixion is a figure of a bishop with a crozier in his left hand. It's very likely that this figure represents St. Tola, founder of the early monastery at this site. The other hand is missing and a hollow replaces it. In this hollow people use to leave some offerings, mostly coins.
The other faces of the cross are decorated with interlaced patterns and knots. The middle base has wonderful carvings on all its sides. On the south side of the middle base there's an inscription that reads "Re-erected by Francis Hutchinsons Ynce of Dysart fourth son of the lates Edward Ynce and Mary Helen his wife in the year 1871".
The church stands on two stone bases. The first one is a 3.66 metres square base, with a height of about 70 centimetres. On this base stands a second base, 1.20 metres tall and 1.46 centimetres each side. The cross itself is 2.65 metres tall and the arms open at about 95 centimetres.
The overall height of this monument is 4.55 metres.
All around us, during the visit, we had cows and calves.
