This church is in ruins and a more recent building, the St. George family of Tyrone House mausoleum, has been built against its north wall.
The early settlement of this church dates back to the 7th century, and it was founded by St. Sourney, to whom is also dedicated a holy well in the same grounds. The present building dates from the 13th century.
On the south (170°) wall is a fascinating portal finely decorated in a style that is called the Transitional style, from the 12th century Romanesque to the following Gothic style. The two arches of the pointed doorway carries two series of wonderfully carved chevrons. The jambs of this doorway have richly decorated capitals depicting leaves and cat heads. The state of conservation of these carvings is amazing.
The inside is bare apart from the two sedilia next to the altar.
