The bartizan at the south-southeast corner with machicolation on its right and the remains of another machicolation on the other wall.

In the town of Taghmon we were looking for an old church, but it was unreachable behind a padlocked and rusty gate.
But we found a tower house not marked on the OS map. It's a little more than a ruinous building and it's used as a storage for farm machineries. Two sheds are next to the towerhouse on its southeast (110°) side.
On the northwest (290°) wall at the first floor level there's a large breach where probably a door or a window was, now closed with a metal mesh.
There are a machicolation and two bartizans at the roof level.
The tower house is all that remains of an ancient castle built in the 16th century and formerly belonging to the descendants of sir Gilbert Talbot, Lord of Wexford.
