From the arch, looking down to where there should be water when the tide is high.


The ruinous but fascinating arch on this outcrop, known with the name of Green Island, is all that remains of the Castle of Doon, owned by Flan Killikelly and demolished when Dunguaire Castle was built.

Castle of Doon is thought to be associated with the Fort of King of Guaire Aidne mac Colmáin, king of Connacht.
