We came here for the first time on May 13th, 2000, but since then things have changed a lot. Mainly because the stone isn't visible anymore. It's been placed inside a 3 metres by 3 metres wooden shed, that is obviously locked, with only two small and dirty windows through which the visitors can look inside. There are plans to move the stone to a museum and replace it with a replica. On the top of the stone the OPW placed a datalogger to record the environmental conditions. This stone, that is one piece of granite, has a phallic shape and has wonderful spiral patterns all over its surface and has been set in a concrete base. The last three photos in this page are scanned slides from the visit of May 13th, 2000.
