This is a large complex of ancient fields, enclosures, ringforts and mounds.
Excavations carried out in 1932-1934 revealed that this was the site of a farming and cattle-rearing community from 1000 BC to 400 AD.
In this area as many as 15 ringforts, some of them joined in clusters, can be found.
Many of this ringforts had souterrains.
Some of the field boundaries laid out by that communinity are still in use today.
The ringforts, tumuli and enclosures are spread over a wide extension, and to be able to see them all an aerial inspection would be needed.
Unfortunately the thick vegetation hides some of them. We only saw one of the ringfort. It had sort of a rectangular enclosure attached to the north side. The site is now completely overgrown with trees.
There's a convenient car park at the entrance, a stile and a 150 metres long path to the site.
