We saw the sign to the Cavan Burren Forest Park and we followed the sign to see what was up there. High on a hill there's a Coniferae forest and an informative sign that tells you everything there's to see in the area. In the forest a dozen of megalithic monuments can be found, but unfortunately we were following a tight timetable and only had time for one of them. We walked under the pine trees for about 250 metres. The portal tomb is on a low mound in a clearing large enough to let the sun filter and shine on the tomb, but not large enough to allow the GPS receiver to see a sufficient number of satellites to calculate an accurate reading.
The tomb is 1.10 metres tall, 2.10 metres wide and about 3 metres long. The entrance faces west-northwest (285°). Most of the cairn is still present but the ground is full of pitfalls and it's easy to fall in a hollow hidden in the moss.
All around the portal tomb live thousands of hungry midges!
UPDATE: June 6th, 2019 - We were in the Cavan Park again to see the other monuments, and decided to visit this tomb again and took new photographs and more accurate GPS readings.
