To the west of the small village of Ballinacurra, on the left bank of the river with same name, there are the ruins of this church built around 1550. It seems that the church was in ruinous conditions as early as 1615.
The building is very overgrown and the vegetation around the church can be nearly impenetrable. There's almost nothing to see in this church apart from a lancet window high in the west (270°) gable. There's a surrounding graveyard surrounded by a boundary wall. At the entrance of the graveyard there's a small building that probably was the watchman's house. In the graveyard many nice gravestones can be seen, some of them of particular beauty.
The church was once part of the Ballynacurra Demesne.
