The east window with the three lancet windows.

To the east of Killorglin, close to the right bank of the River Laune is a graveyard with the ruins of a very old church in it. It was the parish church in the Dromavally townland but it fell in disrepair when it was abandoned after the Reformation, when a new Church of Ireland parish church was built in 1816.
The building is totally overgrown, only the east gable stands to its full height, the north and south walls are intact, the west wall is partly missing.
In the east (90°) wall there are three narrow windows. A lintelled doorway and two windows are in the south wall. In the north wall are a round arch doorway and three windows.
The nave of the church has some recent burials but the exploration of the inside is difficult due to the thick and savage vegetation.
Some interesting gravestones and family tombs can be seen in the graveyard. One of this family tombs has a burial marked with a plaque carrying the moving poem "Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep", written in 1932 by Mary Elizabeth Frye. It was the first time I found it in a graveyard.
