The outline of the old church and the cross seen from the east.

Within a rectangular enclosure, which was probably a church, near the east shore of the Glendalough Upper Lake, is a plain stone cross.
It's aligned east-northeast to west-southwest (70°-250°), it's 71 centimetres tall, 28 centimetres wide and 8 centimetres thick at the base and 54 centimetres wide at the arms. Its head is broken and missing.
This cross and the others close by were probably used as stations on the pilgrims' route.
The fact that it is standing within the plan of an old church might suggest that it's been moved to its present location in more modern times.
