Reaching St. Attracta's holy well is quite a trip. It's well hidden behind a hedgerow and beyond a stream along the N17 to Knock.
The area is enclosed within two runs of barbed wire. There's a small shrine made in concrete with a statue representing St. Attracta. It seems that the shrine was erected in the Marian Year 1954, and unveiled on the August 11th of that year, though it also seems that a previous shrine was erected in 1767.
Before the shrine there's a horrible concrete round enclosure that looks very like a half interred large concrete pipe. On the east (100°) side there's a small and rusty gate.
In the centre of this enclosure is something that might be an altar, made with four concrete pillars and a stone slab above them, to cover a hole in the ground that is the well itself.
The water is unreachable.
Honestly I don't think this is worth the effort.
