Seen from the east-northeast.

High on a hill south of Falcarragh there are the ruins of Ballintemple Church. The place is also know as Tullaghobegly after the name of the local saint Bigill of Tulach who is said to have been a relative of Colmcille.

The building dates to the 13th century and is weirdly aligned to the northeast (45°). Today only the outline of the structure remains, with the tallest wall in the north corner.
The traces of a doorway can be seen halfway in the southeast wall. A wall divides the length of the building in two.
Within the ruins and in the surrounding graveyard a few nice stone crosses can be seen.

The visit at this church was ruined by a very strong and cold wind!
