Lough Derravaragh is the place where the Children of Lir spent their first 300 years as swans. It's part of the mythical tale of King Lir, his children and the swans, and it's very creepy that the lake's outline might resemble a swan in flight. We saw no swan on that day. It was cold and terribly windy! We drove to the northeast shore of the lake, midway along its length.
