Under a tree in a field where cows and calves were grazing there's a small stone cross lying on the ground.
I asked a local man, he wasn't the owner but he granted us the permission to enter. He told us that this is the only cross remaining of the original five crosses that once stood here.
He said that they would mark the burials of some members of the Croppy family from Wexford. The other four crosses have been stolen in the past to be used elsewhere. Until two years ago a yearly mass was held under this tree and up to 30 people would attend it, though none of them had any relation with the men buried here about 200 years ago.
The cross has a chubby look, it is 63 centimetres long, 21 centimetres wide at the base and 38 centimetres wide at the arms, and is 15 centimetres thick. It's exposed to the east-northeast (70°).
Other loose stones are scattered around the cross under the tree.
