The Clashawley River with a long section of the town walls running towards east.

Madame's Bridge enters Fethard from the west side, where the West Gate once was.
Nothing remains of the West Gate, apart from a stump of a gatehouse on the south-southeast (160°) side of the bridge. From this gatehouse a very long strecth of wall runs along the left bank of Clashawley River down to Edmond's Castle and Watergate.
