This small tower house is almost a mistery. There are no information about it and the map doesn't show it.
It's a square building with only a hexagonal tower on the south corner (180°). The inner chambers are in ruins and there's nothing left apart from the plasters still visible both inside and outside.
UPDATE: I just found out that this building isn't a castle, but a former RIC barracks. RIC stands for Royal Irish Constabulary, the police force in Ireland from 1822 until 1922, when the Emerald Isle was still part of the United Kingdom.
This building was built in the beginning of 1820's on this hilltop to better overlook the surroundings. The fortified and defensive features can be seen in the crenellations at the roof level, the hexagonal tower at the south corner with a gun loop pointing down, the bartizan on the northwest wall, and the interesting Croix pommée-shaped gun loop on the second floor in the south-southwest wall. Most of the windows have been walled up.
The building was destroyed in the Spring of 1922, when the truce in the Civil War was signed and the barracks were handed over to the IRA volunteers.
