Up a narrow country road off the R313, on a low mound in a private field is the Barranagh East standing stone. I climbed over the usual cattle gate and walked to the stone, which is 1.63 metres tall, 75 centimetres wide and 70 centimetres thick at the base. Seen from a side it looks like a rectangular stone block, but looking at it on its front face it looks like a pyramid.
