A closer view of the north side.

This wonderful standing stone stands not far from the world famous Johnny Fox's Pub in Glencullen, established 1798, the highest pub in Ireland. Actually the stone stands in a golf course, so it's better to access the site through the gate to the west of the stone.
The stone is a nice block of quartzite and shines beautifully in the sun. Unfortunately the sun was hiding behind the clouds by the time I got close to the stone.
It's 1.71 metres tall, about 1.10 metres wide and about 90 centimetres thick. According to some stories, this stone goes down into the ground for about 7 more metres, making this stone an 8 metres long quartz pillar!
