This cross must date to the 11th century. It's been cut out from a single slab of red stone, it has an unfinished surface and asymmetric arms. It might resemble the cross at Adamstown.
I like the attempt to cut circular hollows at the armpits.
It's in the graveyard around the Mevagh church.
The cross is 2.27 metres tall, 96 centimetres wide at the arms, 41 centimetres wide at the shaft and 16 centimetres thick.
It's oriented to the east-northeast (75°).
Not far from the cross, on the ground, there's a nice and very ancient grave slab with five cupmarks on its top face.
