About 180 metres northeast from Moneygashel Stone Fort there's a very nice portal tomb.
Unfortunately it is now incorporated within a boundary wall built at the beginning of the 18th century. This condition and the look of the structure might make it look like The Calf House in the Cavan Burren Park, probably because just like the other one, this had been adapted to the function of shelter or shed for farming use.
The large capstone has slipped backwards and cracked vertically, and only one portal stone, 1.70 metres tall, is still in place.
The lintelled entrance, facing northeast (55°), is a clear clue of the re-use of this tomb for a different purpose.
This tomb was part of a series of stone structures dating back to about 6,000 years ago.
