I don't know how many times we stopped or passed by this half round tower. What I know it for sure is that the last time we saw it, the place was different, the tower stood lonely in a large square, now it's hidden behind a low building that might be the community centre.
This round tower is all that remains of a monastery founded by St. Mochua. The church that once stood here was burned in 780 and again in 1179.
The main feature of this round tower is that it has two doorways (like the Aghagower round tower). One at the ground level and facing north sharp, its measures are 165 centimetres in height and 72 centimetres in width. The other one on the east side at about 5.70 metres from the ground and has a perfectly rectangular section 150 centimetres high and 49 centimetres wide. These narrow sizes may indicate that it was a window more than a doorway.
The tower is 8.25 metres tall and has a diameter of 4 metres.
