The gatehouse to the east-northeast has a narrow splayed window. The upper floor had two chambers.

North Gate was one of the five accesses to the walled town of Fethard in medieval times.
It has two round-headed arches, the larger one runs across Rocklow Road, the other one is a pedestrian passage.
Rocklow Road runs through the gate along the north-northwest to south-southeast (330°-150°) axis. A two-storey gatehouse stands on the east-northeast side, outside the gate. A narrow and splayed window would allow the guards to check outside.

We had visited this place in the past, without taking any photo.
