The view to the west from the stump of the round tower.

To reach these ruins of a church we walked for 450 metres with a rise of 60 metres. From up here the views are fantastic, and the landscape can be enjoyed at 360°!
There isn't much to see, the ruins are real ruins and no information is given to the visitor. Among the ruins there are some very old graves and crosses, the oldest ones being dated 1770's. This graveyard is the only burial place for the whole parish and it's still in use to the present day. At the west end of the pack of ruins there's the sad stump of a round tower that is about 3 metres at its tallest point.
This site is dated from the 5th century and it is said that St. Patrick himself founded the monastery at that time.
