This lovely church is in the same car park of the Eurospar supermarket in Dunmore.
The building dates from 1425 and was built by Walter de Birmingham, Lord Athenry, upon the site of an early monastic site that was allegedly founded by St. Patrick. It was built as a friary for a community of Augustinian friars, but after the Protestant Reformation occured between the 16th and the 17th century it was converted in a parish church. Most of the settlement was levelled and today this part is the parking lot of the supermarket.
A locked gate at the entrance of the building didn't allow us to visit the inside. There's a square tower towards the chancel.
The 15th century doorway is decorated with two carved heads, and another one is inside the church on the south wall. The doorway faces south (280°).
