Second visit to this unusual round tower, after the first one on September 23rd, 2003. The church and the tower stand on a low mound looking over an old graveyard. The round tower sits on a rocky outcrop and is unusual because it has a hexagonal base and then gets round as usual. The hexagonal section is 5.20 metres high and 3.20 metres each side. The doorway is in this section, faces northeast and is at 3.70 metres from the base of the tower. It's all that remains of the ancient monastery founded here by Mocholmog, and dates from the 11th century. The height of the tower is about as half as the original, and a roof that copies the hexagonal base has been put as a protection.
