The tower house at Barnacoghil stands to the west of a graveyard with traces of another building that might have been a church. It is possible that this tower house was the residence for a priest or a Bishop. There's an entrance in the wall on the east-northeast (75°) side. At this level there are three arched windows, one in each wall. In the northeast (30°) corner there are the mural stairs to the upper floor, where there are four more windows. The external walls are covered in ivy on the north-northwest and south-southeast sides. The roof is missing.
