The well. There are four steps to the water, but it doesn't look so attractive.

A quick visit to this holy well that we found on a side of the R497. It has a beautiful red bricks house built over it and its protected from the surrounding field by a wooden fence.

UPDATE: June 18th, 2016 - A new visit to St. James's holy well. My memories of the place were totally different. It has a well signposted gate alongside the road and a plaque informs the visitors that the well's water is believed to be curative for impaired eyesight.
A long gravel pathway towards east leads to a fenced area where the well is. It's under an arched house with four stone steps down to the water. A metal cup is provided for those who like to drink from the well. The access to the house is from the north.
An annual pattern was held here on July 25th, but it was suppressed around 1800.
The first photo is from the previous visit.
