St. Maelruain's Cross is in the same graveyard as St. Maelruain's church and stand 15 metre south-southeast from the tower. It is a plain and simple ancient cross set on a base which, in turn, is mounted in the centre of a circular base similar to a mill stone.
The cross measures 91 centimetres of height, the shaft is 23 centimetres wide and 14 centimetres thick at the base, the arms open at 56 centimetres. The base is 24 centimetres high.
The circular base has a diameter of 112 centimetres.
