The entrance of the ring fort seen from the road.

This ring fort is well signposted on the R588 road to Cappeen, but it's not clearly marked on the OS Map.

Its structure is almost complete and well preserved. It has a diameter of over 36 metres and its walls are 2 metres high.
But the amazing thing about it, in comparison with others ring forts so far visited, is that this one still has a well recognizable entrance door.
It runs for about 7 metres, it’s 1.60 metres wide and 2.50 metres high. This means that the entrance lintel is much higher than the remaining walls. The door leads to the court of the fort and faces northwest.
