Looking west along the church from the east window.

Historical records say that a license issued by Pope Innocent VIII was granted to the Dominicans to build an abbey at this site in 1488. Anyway the settlement was dissolved in 1584.
No other details are available for this church.
It stands in a still in use graveyard on a raised ground north of R296.
The graveyard came into popular use after 1850 when the landlord at Ballynaglogh abbey refused the use of that graveyard to the local people.
It's a church with a large north transept. The church is aligned to the east (90°). The east window has a two-light window with a moulded hood. There's a small opening halfway up in the west wall, but the different fabric of the masonry in that wall would suggest that it was a partially walled up doorway. In the southeast corner of the church there's a recess with a piscina.
The north transept is quite extensive and has lintelled windows in the east wall and arched windows in the west wall.
The building is unsafe, some stone block are in a precarious condition and the walls show some worrying cracks. Probably walking inside and around the church isn't advisable.
