This stone cross is going to be buried by dirt and grass.

The small and ancient church at Fallmore must be very old, probably from the 10th century. It measures 13 metres in length and 6 metres in width. It's aligned along the east-west (105°-285°) axis. Around it there's a graveyard probably as old as the church, and many burials are marked only by short and rough slabs. In some other cases the burials are marked by beautiful stone crosses or cross slabs.
Three metres northeast from the old church is what is called the St. Dervla's Bed, a small stone enclosure with a rectangular plan that measures 3 metres in width and 3.50 metres in length. Inside this squarish enclosure is a small upright cross pillar that probably marks the burial place of the saint.
From here we could have seen the north coast of Achill Island if it hadn't been misty.
