The wonderful crucifixion slab in the wall is 44 centimetres high.

This magnificent holy well is not marked on the OS Maps, and it was a nice finding for us.

It is at the end of a private track in a field. The access is through a gate that is usually locked, but we found the owners on the site and they granted us the access.

The sacred area is beautifully located within a whitewashed trapezoidal enclosure with a small gate on the north side and a statue of St. Patrick on a white pedestal on the opposite side. The well is inside a circular enclosure with four steps on the east (90°) side. Another small pool of water protected by two side walls and a lintel is on the west side of this circular enclosure.
On the east side of St. Patrick is a small altar, on the other side there's a niche with the statue of Our Lady. Set into the wall between St. Patrick and Our Lady is a wonderful stone slab with a crucifixion in bas-relief about 44 centimetres high. The style of this effigy might date the slab to the 16th century.
Another water pool is just outside the gate of the trapezoidal enclosure.

A Mass is said here every year on June 29th.
This site is absolutely peaceful despite being invaded by mad midges!
