To the south end of the village of Jamestown is this round corner tower built by Francis O'Beirne to mark the boundary of his estate. Francis O'Beirne is renowned in the area of Jamestown for building the school and the schoolmaster's house which were located behind the church, and he also enlarged the chapel in 1843. He died in 1854.
The tower that we see today is a circular and short tower with a wider top with square corbels all around . There's a small timber door in the north (350°) wall and an An Post mailbox on the west side.
