This standing stone is atop a hill where a water tower is, and the fence all around means that the area could be off limits for everybody except for the sheep. We stopped at the houses downhill and a man came out and explained us how to get on the hill to the stone.
The rise on the hill is only 8 metres but the walk is 60 metres long. There's a double run of barbed wire and all the place over there is a mess, but the view over the valley below is stunning.
The stone is 2.35 metres tall, 75 centimetres wide at its base and 40 centimetres thick and tapers to a point. The upper half seems whitewashed, and this is more evident on the northeast face of the stone. The opposite face has been covered by the lichens.
