In the centre of the Castlekeeran old graveyard are the ruins of a small old church. On the outer face of the west wall of these ruins we found an ogham stone. In 1898, this stone was found buried in the graveyard. It was been placed on a rough stone corbel, unfortunately upside down. The stone measures 1.22 metres in height, 44 centimetres in width and 16 centimetres in thickness. It tapers to a point downwards (which should have been upwards), both edges carry ogham inscriptions which read T_COVAGNI MAQI MUCOI LUGUNI ITI, meaning "Of Thy Cuan son of the sons of Luigne".
