The Caomhaoin Breac holy well, or St. Kevin's holy well, is said to be the well where St. Kevin baptised the first Christian converts of the neighbourhood. The site was in use in pagan times already, so, as it always happened, this well was Christianised when the first Christian monks came to Ireland. According to some folklore its water has curative powers. Caomhaoin Breac lived from 529 to 615 AD.
The holy well is on a bend on the country road and it isn't signed on the OS maps. In fact it was a nice surprise after our visit to the nearby graveyard with the petroglyph and the cross slabs.
