While driving on the R639 (former N8) from Tipperary Town to Urlingford we saw a tower house in the distance and looked for the way to reach it. We eventually arrived in the small village of Moycarkey, the castle was in front of us but it seemed to us that it was in a private property so we turned back and stopped at this ruined church dedicated to St. Andrew.
It's a nave and chancel arch, but it's clear enough that the nave was added much later. The bell-cote is atop the gable that once was the east end of the church. The chancel is narrower than the nave. These feature should date the first building of the church to the 12th century.
I have no other information about it.
