The Butler memorial, the burial place of Margaret Butler, the last inhabitant of Kilcash castle. She dedicated her life to the help of the poor, priests and bishops escaping from the Penal Laws. She died in 1744.

This church in ruins stands about 1 km drive from the Kilcash castle, and was built on the remains of an ancient monastic site associated to St. Colmán ua hEirc who was one of the abbots of Clonard.
In medieval times the church passed to the Knights Hospitaller. In the churchyard is the tomb of archbishop Christopher Butler who died in 1757.
The south side boasts a fine Romanesque doorway and a small window. Just 5 metres to the east there's another building that probably was the dwelling for the priests.
The castle is visible from here.
