This holy well is at the southeast corner of the graveyard around Clonbeg Church, and is dedicated to St. Sedna, the patron saint of Aherlow. It is said he was son of Maghna, the sister of St. David of Wales.
Nothing protects the well, that is exposed to anything that can soil its water. For instance, on the day we visited the place, the grass had been just mowed, and the cut grass was floating on and in the water of the well.
Near the well is a rag-tree where pilgrims tie a piece of cloth after visiting the well.
It is said that the water of this well may cure eye ailments.
