In the small village of Ballingarry there are the ruins of a tower house that can be reached at the end of a 100 metres long path to the west. It's L-shaped, with the entrance to the southeast. It measures 14 metres by 8 metres in plan. The building was in the property of the De Lacy family, who left it when they fled from the Cromwell invasion.
It's five storeys high, though the structure is irregular. The highest point is on the east corner. The interiors are in ruins and quite dangerous. The access to the building is impossible. The timber ceiling at the ground floor has collapsed. One of the main features of the castle is the nice window high on the northeast (35°) wall. Beside it is a protruding stone with what probably was a carved head.
Another window is in the northwest (305°) side wall.
