This passage tomb is well preserved and has an important section of the original cairn still present. It is part of the large group of passage tombs in the Boyne Valley that also includes Newgrange, Dowth and Knowth which are less than 3 km away. The mound is about 1.20 metres high and has an approximate diameter of 13 metres. Two large slabs 1 metre tall close the burial chamber. The gallery is 5 metres long and 3.5 metres wide. On one side of the gallery there two upright stones 80 centimetres and 1.1 metres tall respectively. The passage is aligned to the northeast (50°).
The cairn is surrounded by 16 round-shaped small kerb stones and is protected inside a fence that is 20 metres in diameter.
