According to the tradition, this is the well where St. Patrick baptised Eithne and Fidelma, the two daughters of Laoghaire, High King of Ireland.
More than a typical pond with water, this is a stream with a powerful flow of water. The spring of this stream is 1.5 km further west-northwest.
On one side of the stream is a little statue of Our Lady, on the other side is an octagonal shrine, whose door is partially broken and we didn't dare to force it open. In front of the stream, right before the water appears from below the ground, is a statue of St. Patrick and the usual rag-tree.
This place put its roots in my heart.
UPDATE: September 5th, 2012 - I had the urge to come back to this holy well. This time the shrine's door was working fine and we could step in. It's an amazing place to me. I took new photos. The first three in this page are from the 2011.
Of course I'll be back to Ogulla holy well every time I have the chance.
UPDATE: June 29th, 2013 - As promised, while we in this area we made a short detour to visit this holy well. The photos from number 9 to number 12 are from this visit.

UPDATE: June 26th, 2015 - This is our fifth visit to this site, no other site has ever been visited more times. Maybe one day I will tell you why I like this place so much! Photo number 15 is from this visit.
UPDATE: June 21st, 2016 - Sixth visit to this holy well. It was raining this time, but nothing can ruin the beauty of this place. Photo number 16 is from this visit.
UPDATE: June 10th, 2019 - Seventh visit to this holy well. Photos number 17 and 18 are from this visit. The place was very run down this time, the shrine had been stripped of its furniture, and was dirty and bleak. I hope it was going under a bit of restoration and next time it will be back to its original beauty.
