Already seen in a previous trip, on May 5th, 2000.
It looks like one of the conical buildings at Leixlip, The Wonderful Barn.
The windmill is behind a group of buildings, and although we tried, we couldn't find an access to have a closer look.
It stands seven stories high and overlooks the east end of the town, an area called Seatown. For a period of time it was reputed to be the tallest windmill in Ireland.
According to some records it has not been in use since about 1855. The wooden sails were taken down in 1870 because of their dangerous conditions.
Seen from a distance and with a distracted eye it may look like a round tower.
UPDATE: May 30th, 2014 - We were driving through Dundalk and we thought it could have been a good idea to take some more photos of this place.
