St. Ernan founded a monastery here in the 6th century. It was known with the name of Cluain Deochra. What we see today are the poor ruins of the Grey Friars' monastery surrounded by a graveyard. It is said that under The Bishop's Grave lie the remains of a well known early bishop, Flann Mulvihill.
There's a wall with a moulded arched wall in the east end of the graveyard. Into its west (270°) side there are 5 cross slabs or fragments of them. One of the largest slabs is very similar to the cross slab at the foot of Meelick round tower.
