We came up here only because it is far from the usual beaten paths, I saw a red dot on the OS map and wanted to see what it was. We were rewarded by a beautiful small church and some cross pillars.
It's a very old church, from Early Christian times. It seems it was built by Cuimín of Lacken, who later became Saint Cuimín. The small church is 12 metres long and 7 metres wide, and is aligned to the east-southeast (110°).
The west doorway is a rounded arch. In the east wall there's a small splayed window.
To the north of the church there are two slender cross pillars with three smaller stones between them.
Saint Cuimín was buried in this graveyard, but his tomb was lost during the centuries. It is said that these cross pillars might be part of his grave.
The pillar on the right is 1.57 metres tall, the pillar on the left is 1.68 metres tall.
One of the small stones between the pillars bears 4 inscribed cross, one in a circle of 20.5 centimetres of diameter, the other 3 in circles of 10 centimetres of diameter.
About 65 metres north of the church there's the St. Cumin's Holy Well.
