In the tiny village of Malin More there's a wonderful alignment of portal tombs and a pair of standing stones over a quite straight line 175 metres long, on a roughly east to west axis.
I started with the large portal tomb at the east end of the alignment and I have numbered the monuments from 1 to 9. It has been speculated that monuments from 1 to 6 might have been joined and covered by a giant straight cairn.
This is the portal tomb number 1 and is the easternmost monument of this incredible alignment.
It's beside a farmhouse at the end of the farm track. The part visible from the road is neat and tidy and faces north, the other side of the monument was in a worse condition, with a timber pallet thrown among the stones and a plastic toy for kids hidden behind one of the side stones. Seen from the north all the visible stones are trapped into and partially supported by a boundary wall. It seems that the huge capstone fell forward to the northeast and what once was the highest point of the monument now touches the ground.
The sizes of this tomb are amazing. It's 5.60 metres long and 2.20 metres high. I didn't measured its width.
