The Oughterard cemetery is behind a group of houses, the gate to it is pretty well concealed.
In the graveyard, there are the ruins of an old church, a round tower and a small stone cross.
The church measures about 23 metres by 6 metres. A section of the south wall of the church has been propped up to prevent it from falling outwards. Half of the building is roofless, but the other half still retains a vaulted ceiling.
The round tower is 11 metres west from the church, has a diameter of about 5 metres and stands at a height of 8.40 metres. The doorway of the tower is 3.50 from the ground, it faces east and has a padlocked iron gate. There's only one window on the tower, this means that at least half of it is missing.
Three metres southwest from the tower there's a plain stone cross with a very old look. It has a prismatic section and a hint of a wheel on the upper part of the arms. It's 95 centimetres tall, 37 centimetres wide, 18 centimetres thick and the arms are 56 centimetres wide. Many other nice graves are visible in the cemetery.
All the place, from the gate to the cemetery, is absolutely well looked after.
